The resin ribbon for its principal component looks gray to the sight and to the printing. Unlike the wax ribbon that remains in surface the resin ribbon has to penetrate into the fiber to cling and to resist to external factors as:
Scratching - acids–solvents–high temperatures etc.
A good resin ribbon also has to have the characteristic to transfer with a lower part point of fusion so that the print head is not externally solicited and the time of life is not reduced.
